Pork is one of the most affordable meats at the moment, and this sesame pork meatball chilli soup with broccoli makes a perfect family meal. - 500 g Ritchies pork mince
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons Hoisin sauce
- 1tablespoon sesame oil
- 50g sesame seeds
- 4 cups low salt chicken stock
- 3 long red chillies 2 sliced and 1 finely diced
- ½ cup finely chopped coriander leaves/
- 1 tablespoon peeled and grated fresh ginger
- 4 spring onions finely sliced
- 200g fresh egg noodles
- 1 large head of brocollini cut in small florets

Preheat oven to 180oC. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
In a large bowl mix together the pork mince. 1 tablespoons each of soy and hoisin sauces, the diced chilli, two thirds of the sesame seeds and half the coriander. Roll into 16 balls about 4-5 cms across and transfer to the oven tray. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until cooked through.
In a wok or large sauce pan on a medium high heat, add the sesame oil and sliced chilli and ginger cook for about 1 minute till fragrant. Add the stock, remaining soy and hoisin and bring to the boil. Add the noodles. Cook for 1 minute. Add the brocollini and cook for 2 minutes till just cooked. Divide between 4 bowls top with the hot meatballs, coriander and remaining sesame seeds and a few extra chilli slices.
Serves 4. Preparation time 10 minutes. Cooking time 20 minutes.
Tip: You can vary the amount of chilli in this dish to your family’s tastes. Increase it if you like things really spicy or reduce it if you’re cooking for little kids.
